The dire need for having a hospital on Raiwind Road was being felt for a long time. Neither the Government nor any NGO thought of providing the basic health facilities in the newly emerging suburbs and surrounding 34 villages besides 93 industrial Units situated around the Raiwind Raod. It fell into the luck of Muhammad Shafi Malik to make a modern Hospital for the poor inhabitants of rural areas & factory workers.

Our three stories 100 bedded Mumtaz Bakhtawar ( trust ) hospital at 8th KM on Raiwind Road, Lahore has started functioning in a full-fledged manner. It was inaugurated bye Mir Zafar Ullah Khan Jamali, Prime Minister of Pakistan on 26th May, 2003. his remarks in our visitor’s book are reproduced below:

“It’s a pleasure to be here today. My appreciation for the whole family for this noble cause. I hope we have more “Pakistanis” like this. My prayers.”


The covered area of this hospital is 43268 square feet and undoubtedly it is one of the best Hospitals in the historic city of Lahore. The working of this hospital in respect of patient management, billing accounts payable, general ledger, pay roll and inventories for medicines and general store, lab * OPD have been computerized. The management of the hospitals is being done bye Advisory Board comprising of trustees, Administrator and eminent Doctors. Mr. Muhammad Shafi Malik is a foresighted person. He is encouraging his family members to come forward and take part in the affairs of th eHopital. In this connection the services of Iftikhar Ali Malik , Vice chaiirmain of Trust, Mrs. Nustrat Abbas Malik ( trustee) Mr. Shahzad Alik Malik ( Trustee) , Dr. Komal Shahzad wife of Shahzad Ali Malik and Dr. Rasmia Imtiaz grand daughter of the founder are laudable.

The construction of Second Hospital was gigantic project. When we look back at its history it is revealed that Allah opined the avenues for the completion of this welfare Hospitals, however, it was conceived, planned, executed and equipped by Muhammad Shafi Malik, “ Sitara-i-Imtiaz” .Mr. Shahbaz Ali Malik ( trustee) also took keen interest and off and on supervised the construction activates of the Hospital. Mr. Waqar Ali Malik ( Trustee) took active interest in settling the rates of major items of supplies and thus a huge amount of the trust was saved through his dedicated efforts. Being a project of technical nature, Dr. Ahmad Salman Waris, Associate Professor of Medicine, Allama Iqbal Medical College, Lahore , Dr. Tahir Mahmood Majwa, general Surgeon, Services Hospital, Lahore and Dr. Fakhur-ul-Islam pathologist of Hammed Latif hospital , Lahore rendered continued guidance and assistance till the completion of our Hospital.

It is difficult to mention the names of all those who helped us directly or indirectly in the completion of this wonderful hospital but it our earnest prayer that Allah may bless them all and their coming generations for this noble work.
